Motivated by phosphorene, here we investigate the stability and electronic properties of the honeycomb structure of the arsenic system based on first-principles calculations. WebPhosphorene has a band gap of 3.28 eV, having HOMO and LUMO energies of −6.01 eV and −2.72 eV, respectively.
